Ive read the reviews damning the game for having game-breaking issues with crashes and lag, and Im relieved to say that 14 hours into the story Ive experienced neither. The game has crashed not once, and the lag that occurs during abilities graphic effects (using a potion, casting fire, etc), is just like the PSP version only far less noticeable. Also, everything else about the gameplay proceeds MUCH faster (enemies deciding what to do, confirming commands, etc.), so really, it kinda balances out. Also, being able to rotate a full 360 around a battle map rather than just four fixed camera angles with two slants is nice.
If you played the PSP version there isnt much here thats new, but anyone who only got the PS1 version is in for a treat. There are lots of new CG sequences in the game, and the completely redone dialogue in the game is a huge improvement. The language is occasionally a touch overdone but overall the new localization is much more coherent.
Therere two new bonus characters to enjoy in this version, and two new jobs to play as. The Dark Knight job is absurdly strong, but youll need to grind for a pretty long time to get it (took me 12-13 hours) so dont get too excited :p
If you liked FFT, its a good buy. Yeah its expensive, but this game is enormous and its story has been hailed as one of the most well-told RPG yarns there is for almost 20 years. Pick it up and have fun.
